ZAIK - Group Faigle/Schrader: Projects/Simulations/Trafficsimulation/Software

	Software
	The Traffic-Group at the Center for Parallel Computing (ZAIK) works simultaneosly on two traffic simulation software projects. On the one hand there is the software FASTLANE which varies individual routes according to a given cost function by very fast iterative simulations of a Queueing-car following model until the system reaches the Dynamic User Equilibrium, i.e. all routes are time optimized, and on the other hand the program PLANSIM-T which distinguishes itself by the possibility of easily modifying of car following models and individual routing with coveal traffic calculation on a very high level of detail. The routes computed by FASTLANE can be used as input to study the traffic behaviour on a more microscopic level. PLANSIM-T is no longer supported.. The sources of the software are now part of the Open-Source Project SUMO (Simulation of Urban MObility). The software is further developed together with theInstitut für Verkehrsforschung (DLR).
