The efficient use of restricted resources like machines or time in a production plant can contribute considerably to cost saving. Unlukily the optimization problems arising from these applications are often hard to solve. We did our best to overcome this situation, by theoretical work as well as in some projects with industrial partners.
ZAIK-Publications on scheduling

For the Ford Motor Company we have developed a method with which the orders of each month can be segmented into daily production in an optimal fashion.

For the steelworks Hüttenwerke Krupp-Mannesmann (HKM) we developed an algorithm for the scheduling of a transport crab system. The algorithm was integrated into the plants IT-environment by Vodafone TeleCommerce GmbH.
